1940s R&K Deco Print Crepe Dress

The crepe fabric of a 1940's dress by R&K is manipulated with small inverted pleats that are sewn down with smocking stitches. This pleated portion forms a bib insert at the front bodice.

That print is amazing. I don't know what I think of the smocking, since I can't see the shape of the dress, but I love the print to death.
